I think we could call this 3 miles.  Didn't have to wake up early because of Halloween last night.  Apparently, someone thought it was a good idea to give us time to recover from the sugar rush.  It was a good idea.  Jogged for 39:59.32 and ended up on the field for three sets of pushups and situps.  In my mind, I can still do a set of 40 pushups easily.  The reality is that I did 3 sets of 25.  I barely made the first set.  The second set I only got halfway before going to my knees and finishing the set from there.  I got 6 pushups on the last set before collapsing to my knees and finishing the set in the kneeling position.  Horrible.  As for the situps, 3 sets of 30 was good enough for me.  The reality is so much different from my ideal.  Just have to actually do more pushups and situps to get better at them.

Seems like 6 is the magic number for this workout.  Six laps around the track.  If the timer is accurate, I'm covering a little more distance.  Dare I say there is some improvement?  Maybe.

Woke up this morning and was surprised to see the ground wet and a light drizzle of rain.  It really does rain here in Texas.  Because the Chicago Cubs won the World Series last night, our boss let us run on our own.  Ran an abbreviated loop in the rain.  Can't remember the last time I ran in the rain.  It has been a while.  Beautiful start to a day!

Easily two and half.  We ran out to the mile marker and turned around to come back.  Did some sprints on our way.  Coming back it was a free for all.  We did probably the fastest recovery stretching in the history of our run group so we could all go and get breakfast and still make it in to work on time.

Ran it a little different today.  Stopped off at the field to do some pushups and situps.  3 sets.  The situps come a little easier than the pushups do.  Afterwards, slow jog back home on a little back road that I rediscovered.  Total run time 1 hour 3 seconds.  Total overall time: 1hr 25:28.

I caught up to another runner this morning who was seemingly slapping at mosquitoes.  I guess when I caught up to him, he realized there were no mosquitoes around and then proceeded to speed up and leave me in the dust.  It brought a smile to my face.

Really humid out this morning.  Got a good run in.  I think becoming familiar with the route helps to increase my confidence and decrease my time.  Stripes run Monday.

Although it is better than my time last week, everyone ahead of me simply vanished allowing me to think that I had actually slowed down when that was not the case.  They just simply sped up.

Sprint for 8 seconds and recover for 52 seconds.  Never tried this before but it was interesting because it was something new.  It was a good warm up and probably could have sprinted a little faster.  Moved on to 30/60s.  Lost track of distance but we covered at least 5 laps minus the warm ups.

Easy walk with 35 lbs in the rain for 2.2 miles.  Nothing like walking in the rain.  Finished in 31 minutes.  I won't count these miles for running since I didn't run.

Holiday!  Yay!  Off to visit the family.  Been waiting for this for a whole month now.  Finally.  I'm sure I'll get some miles in tomorrow.

I had the perfect opportunity to get out and run this morning and I procrastinated it away.  I hate when I do that.  My oldest awoke to find me reading when I should have been running.  I got a couple sprints in chasing her around, but that's about it.  That's what happens when you procrastinate.  You'd think I would have already learned that lesson long ago.  Nope.  Gotta keep relearning that one over and over because I'm probably the biggest procrastinator in the world.

I was feeling really good this morning.  The holiday weekend must have added to my happiness.  It also added to my waist line.  Just love to eat on those long holiday weekends.  I'm going to try to get under 23 minutes for this route.

I'm kind of suspicious about my route measurement.  I think I will have to re-measure it again because it seems like the route is shorter than what I measured.  Got today off from the group to run on my own.  I think I started off to quickly because I reminded myself to slow down until I warmed up.  The weather was chilly which is the perfect running weather for me at 47 degrees.  Set a new PR for the course.  Now I just have to find out how long the course really is.  Running at about a 10 - 11 minute mile.

Went to visit the city of Dallas.  On my return, I wasn't feeling so well.  You know what that means.  Yup.  Zero miles running, but a ton of miles in the car.  Too bad car miles don't count as a workout.

Just a little longer than our usual route but not significantly enough to add any real distance.  I thought I was faster on the way back, but that was just my imagination playing tricks on me.  I think it is that hill that stands in my way even though the incline isn't that much.

50 pullups, 100 pushups, 150 squats (half Murph)

Not enough time to do a full Murph workout so we only did a half.  Started with half a mile then half of the workout followed by another half mile.  I was the last one done.  It was a great workout though.

Sports day.  Played half court basketball 4 on 4.  Let's just say that my team got slaughtered.  We had one good player, but he wasn't good enough to carry us against the other team which had two good players one of them was the best player on the court.  It was fun though.

Yummy mashed potatoes and stuffing with a little turkey.  Skipped the pie and ate doughnuts instead.  Managed to stop before I went into a Thanksgiving day food coma.  Zero running although I thought about it.

Ran out to University and back.  It was chilly but after a few minutes I was warm enough to not notice the temperature.  Only saw three walkers out there.  I think everybody else was still sleeping or out shopping on Black Friday to find good deals.

Feeling a little sluggish today.  I think turkey day affected me a little more than I thought.  Hit a slow down on the way back.  Thought I was picking up the pace but I guess I wasn't or perhaps I was walking and actually did pick up the pace to a jog.

First two laps at a nice, slow jog.  Next 8 laps averaged at 3 minutes a lap doing 60/120s.  Sadly, not my best day for this workout.
